Oil/Gas Well Staking
Mike entered the surveying profession immediately graduating from high school in 1978. He has worked on all types of surveying relative to his home area. This includes experience in topographic, flood certificates, rights of ways/servitudes, oil & gas layouts, construction staking and “as built” surveys. However, his passion is for the boundary survey and primarily those in the North Louisiana area. He enjoys the “puzzle solving” and research necessary to give his client the most complete answer available. Having worked under and along with many “competent” surveyors in the past, he knows when to “seek help” from his fellow professionals. His relationship with other surveyors has proved advantageous in reaching solutions for his clients. Mike was licensed in Louisiana as a Professional Land Surveyor in 1990. He does not desire to practice in any other state, choosing to focus on the challenges presented in his home area.
Born and raised in Michigan, Craig attended Michigan State University, graduating in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management. After college he took a job with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development in Monroe. Starting in the field survey crew, he advanced quickly and was head of the survey department within 1.5 years. During his time with DOTD, he primarily performed topographic and route (right of way) surveys, and records research. Seeking to broaden his skills as a surveyor and in search of a new challenge, he began working part-time with Mike Duty performing almost exclusively boundary surveys. This developed into a full-fledged partnership in early 2015 when he helped to establish North Louisiana Surveying and Mapping. Craig has been a licensed Louisiana Professional Land Surveyor since 2016.
A 2014 graduate from Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geographical Information Systems. He is also an FAA licensed drone pilot. Prior to helping found North Louisiana Surveying and Mapping, he was a GIS Analyst in the pipeline industry, and spent several years as a Surveying Technician working alongside Mike Duty, P.L.S.
Wayland is currently completing the requirements for licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Louisiana.
